Posse Training Requirements
The two Posses are MCSO Sheriff’s Posse of Sun City West & Sun City West Posse The in house training should show the same classes and same classroom hours for both Posses. The difference is the Sheriff’s Posse is required to complete the MCSO Mandatory Bias Training (4th & 14th Amendments + gender Bias. Two 10hr classes dates and times to be determined by MCSO will be done at MCSO Training Center. They must also complete On Line training. The hours would depend on their computer skills and can be taken at home once they receive notification of their acceptance.

Recruit Training Requirements (approximate hours)
All Training is done in house at our location or at a parking lot in the community.
One week of classroom/practical training consisting of:
- Basic Orientation 8 hrs.
- Communications 4 hrs.
- Map Reading 4 hrs.
- Posse Fundamentals 4 hrs.
- Practicum of Communications 4 hrs.
- Defensive Driving/ Traffic 4 hrs.
- Driving Skills Course done in parking lot 4 hrs.
- CPR, AED, First Aid 4 hrs.
- Vacation Watch 4 hrs.
- AARP Defensive Driving Class 4 hrs.
Plus
- 6 In Car Training Rides 42 hrs.
- Dispatch 3 hrs.
This training will not take place at our location
- MCSO Online required training classes
- Court Ordered MCSO required 4th and 14th Amendment class 20 hours
SCW-ONLY Posse

Training Requirements
Associate Classroom
- Orientation
- Communications
- Map Reading
- Field Ride along on all 3 shifts
- In House Training consisting of 6 six hour shifts: 2 AM shifts, 2 Afternoon shifts, 2 PM shifts, with a Final exam
- Six 6 hour shifts
Sworn Would be required to take new recruit in house training.
After training is completed a dispatcher is required to do 4 shifts per month.
