DATELINE: SUMMERTIME
Several monsoon storms have come through Sun City West in past years knocking down trees and saguaros onto roofs, tearing off patio covers, blowing shingles all over yards; skylights were blown out and in many instances allowed water to enter the home. For days following the storms, the Posse was busy trying to make contact with residents to notify them of problems with their homes. In too many instances we had NO LOCAL KEYHOLDER….NO EMERGENCY INFORMATION….NOTHING in our confidential computer database. Hours and hours were spent contacting neighbors and making long distance telephone calls trying to locate a responsible party.
DATELINE: WINTER
We have had winters where temperatures dropped into the 20s, freezing pipes all over the community, creating broken water lines. Once again, the Posse tries to contact residents and again, many times to no avail.
DATELINE: ANYTIME
A resident who lives alone may have a fall or is hospitalized….the Posse may not have Emergency Notification information to make a contact. While on patrol a Posse Person spots water running down a driveway from the garage….no one is at home….no info on file … house is flooded … and the list goes on …
